Our abortion services in Oxford

We currently offer medical abortion care from our clinic in Oxford. We will also start to offer surgical abortion care from our Oxford clinic in the coming weeks.

A medical abortion (also known as the abortion pill) involves taking two types of medication (mifepristone and misoprostol) at two different times, to end a pregnancy. At MSI UK, a medical abortion is available up to 9 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy.

We offer both face-to-face medical abortion care and at-home abortion pills (also known as telemedicine). If you meet the safety criteria to allow for medical abortion without a scan, the abortion medication can either be collected by you from one of our abortion clinics in Oxford or posted to your home address after your phone or face-to-face consultation.

A surgical abortion is a safe and simple procedure used to end a pregnancy. It is available up to 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy.

At MSI Reproductive Choices, we provide free (NHS-funded), confidential counselling services as part of abortion care. Our counselling team is available any time you need to talk before, during and after your treatment, even if your abortion was some years ago.

Contraception

When accessing abortion services with MSI UK, you will have the opportunity to discuss contraception with our nurses. If you would like to start a method following your abortion treatment, we offer a range of short-acting contraceptive methods (such as the combined pill, the mini pill, the patch or the ring) and long-acting contraceptive methods (such as the hormonal coil, the non-hormonal coil, the injection or the implant) to suit your individual needs.
