NHS-funded vasectomy care
We have been providing vasectomy procedures for the NHS for over 40 years. Over 90% of our clients have their vasectomy funded by the NHS.
How to access NHS-funded vasectomy care
If you would like to have an NHS-funded vasectomy with MSI UK, your GP will need to fill out a referral form and send it to us.
Once we have received your referral form we will contact you, either by phone or post, to book your consultation and treatment appointment. Please note that an NHS referral will last for one year before it needs to be renewed.
Vasectomy self-referrals
In some areas of the UK you can self-refer for an NHS-funded vasectomy without seeing your GP first. If you are registered with a GP in one of the areas below, you can call us directly to make a booking, without having a GP referral:
- Coventry and Warwickshire
- Guildford and Waverley
- Leeds
- North East Hampshire and Farnham
- Surrey Heath
- South Tyneside
- Sheffield
- Teesside

What does NHS-funded vasectomy care include?
At MSI UK, we offer a full service which includes:
During your consultation, we will talk about the vasectomy procedure in detail so that you know what to expect on the day, and so you know what to do afterwards.
There are some medical conditions that mean having a vasectomy would not be a suitable option for you. Because of this, we will ask you about your medical history during your consultation to make sure the procedure is safe for you.
Our expert surgeons use the non-scalpel technique, and the procedure takes around fifteen minutes.
We are here to support your vasectomy recovery and aftercare. You can call our 24-hour dedicated aftercare line on 0345 122 1441.
A semen testing kit with instructions and a return envelope will be provided immediately after your vasectomy procedure. 16 weeks after your vasectomy procedure, you will need to send your semen sample to the laboratory to make sure your vasectomy has been successful.
If you would like to talk to someone impartial before or after your procedure, we can arrange vasectomy counselling for you. Our counsellors give confidential, non-judgemental support.
