At Home Abortion Pills – Telemedicine Service
If you meet safety criteria to allow for medical abortion without a scan, the abortion medications can either be collected by you from a centre or posted to your home address after your consultation.
How to receive your abortion pills by post
Dr Yvonne Neubauer is MSI Reproductive Choices UK’s Associate Clinical Director: she is passionate about delivering safe abortion care to all pregnant people considering this option.
In this video she explains how the “At home abortion pills” service works, how to receive your pills by post, and how to get in touch with us if you would need to.
Our network of over 60 clinics will also remain open for anyone who is not eligible for this option and needs, or prefers, to attend a clinic to receive face-to-face care.
How to book your abortion pills kit
Medical abortion (or the abortion pill, as it’s sometimes called) involves taking two types of medication at different times to end a pregnancy.
At MSI Reproductive Choices, medical abortion is available up to 9 weeks + 6 days of pregnancy. For the majority of people who have a medical abortion, it is a very safe procedure. However, not everyone is suitable for a medical abortion, and you may be offered a surgical abortion.
You can always call our FREE advice line on 0345 300 8090: our experienced and trained agents will explain the next steps, book you in for a phone consultation and will offer the option of FREE counselling appointments.
Before your abortion, you will have a consultation with one of our specially-trained nurses or midwives.
We will calculate your gestation (how many weeks pregnant you are) and take a full medical history from you. We may also carry out some tests to ensure your safety.
Following your consultation, you will have the choice of either collecting the pills from your preferred clinic or having them posted to you. Your Medical Abortion Pack will contain:
– Both sets of abortion pills
– One box containing codeine tablets (unless opted out/medically unsuitable after consultation)
– One pregnancy test (this is not a normal pregnancy test and is only designed to check whether the abortion has been successful – please keep this safe as you will need to use this three weeks after taking your tablets)
– An STI (Sexually transmitted Infection) screening kit
– Contraceptive pills (if requested)
Recovery time after an abortion will be different for everyone, but you’ll usually feel better within a few days. However, if you feel like you’re experiencing any problems – either physical or emotional – after the treatment, we’re here to help.
We have a dedicated aftercare line 24 hours a day and talk to one of our friendly, experienced nurses. You can always call our dedicated aftercare line: 0345 122 1441.

Our Services
We provide counselling services for anyone who would like to talk through their abortion options before booking their consultation appointment. Post-treatment counselling is also available any time if you need to talk.
A medical abortion uses medication to end a pregnancy. The treatment involves taking two types of medicine at two different times. It is the safest treatment option up to 9 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy for most people.
At MSI Reproductive Choices, we offer face-to-face and at-home medical abortion services up to 9 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. This means that if you meet safety criteria to allow for a medical abortion without a scan, you can take both sets of pills at home, without needing to attend a clinic. The abortion medication can either be collected by you from one of our clinics or posted to your home address after your consultation.
We offer surgical abortion up to 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. A surgical abortion is a safe and simple procedure carried out by specialist doctors in a clinic, and involves the pregnancy being removed through the vagina using a suction method. The type of surgical abortion procedure we offer you will depend on how many weeks you have been pregnant and your medical history.
As part of your abortion care, we’ll offer a wide range of short and long-term contraceptive options.
