About Blue Door: our online client portal
MSI UK’s online client portal ‘Blue Door’ is a dedicated space for clients to manage their care.
Clients to create and access their accounts, complete their medical history and request to book, cancel or amend their appointments.
Blue Door is available for all of our services: abortion, vasectomy and contraception.
MSI’s Blue Door
The portal is our digital Blue Door to our services and incorporates our famous blue door logo, known around the world.
Our blue door is an iconic part of MSI’s identity, showing the welcoming and reassuring nature of the organisation. It represents the entrance to our centres and now, to our digital services too. Through our new online client portal “Blue Door”, our services will always be open and ready to support anyone who needs us at any time.
The introduction of Blue Door offers a multitude of advantages, revolutionising how our clients access reproductive healthcare with MSI Reproductive Choices UK.
- Flexibility: clients can access Blue Door from anywhere, at any time, using various devices such as computers, tablets, or smartphones. This means that clients can engage with our services at their convenience, and have better control over their care.
- Choice: Blue Door is another way to access care, but clients can still get in touch with us via webchat or on the phone if they’d prefer. We designed this portal to expand choice.
- Safety and safeguarding: Client safety is our priority: we have a robust process of identifying and supporting clients through various safeguarding concerns. The same safeguarding checks have been built into the portal as we have in place for clients accessing care over the phone, and will be monitored by our dedicated client care co-ordinators and safeguarding team.
- Security and privacy: Blue Door has security built into the heart of it. From design through to development and delivery, client security and data privacy has been considered every step of the way, ensuring sensitive client information is protected through encryption and secure authentication measures.
Keeping your Blue Door account secure
Once you have created your account and logged in, you will be able to enter basic personal information (such as your name, address, contact details, and date of birth), key demographic information (such as your title, sex, gender identity and emergency contact details) and record your contact preferences.
If you would like access to medical records that are not contained within your Blue Door account, such as a discharge summary or ultrasound scans, you can request your information. This is known as making a subject access request.

Internal members of MSI Reproductive Choices UK (MSI UK) will be able to view the information you put into your Blue Door account. This is on a strict ‘need-to-know basis’. We access and use this information in order to provide you with care. If you share your login details with anyone else, they will be able to access your information within your account.
Blue Door is designed to be safe and secure. However, your password is only as strong as you make it, and we recommend following online best practice to access your account safely.

No, deleting your Blue Door account will not delete your medical record with MSI UK. Your Blue Door account is separate to your medical record. Whilst you can delete your Blue Door account whenever you like, we are required to retain your medical record for a certain period of time.
We set what is known as a ‘retention period’ on your medical record, which is the length of time that we will securely store your record for. How long we keep your medical record is determined based on various factors such as legal and regulatory requirements, business need, and operational requirements.
For clients accessing abortion or contraception services, your online portal account will be automatically deleted 6 months after your account has been inactive for 10 days. If you log on to your account during this time, the 6-month timer resets. In other words, if there is no activity on your account and you do not log in, your account will be deleted in 6 months and 10 days.
For clients accessing vasectomy care, your online portal account will be automatically deleted 12 months after your account has been inactive for 10 days. If you log on to your account during this time, the 12-month timer resets. In other words, if there is no activity on your account and you do not log in, your account will be deleted in 12 months and 10 days.
If you wish to delete your online portal account before this time, you can do so within your account settings by selecting the ‘Delete Account’ button. Please note that deleting your account prior to treatment may result in delays to your treatment.
