“I have done things I don’t feel I could have with a child of my own.”

This client had a medical abortion with MSI UK four years ago. They’ve decided to share their story, including the things they’ve been able to do and achieve in the time since accessing care.

Around 4 years ago I found out I was pregnant whilst being sick at work.

At the time, my eldest sister had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl, and I felt guilty knowing I did not want to keep my pregnancy.

“I think of how different my life is.”

I attended a clinic and was given the pills to take at home, the pain lasted for one day, after which I was back to work as normal.

To this day I think of what could have been and how different my life is.

“I have done things I don’t feel I could have with a child of my own.”

However, I am now the best aunty to two wonderful children, I have changed careers, moved house, gotten married, all things I don’t feel I could have done with a child of my own.

“I do not hold any regret.”

I have told friends about my choice and been supported by some and dismissed by others, but I do not hold any regret for the choice I made.
