I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant, but had been using the pill, so this was unplanned. My husband and I want children in the future but as a Student Paramedic in my second year, it was a crippling decision to make.
In my head, I knew the right decision was to have an abortion but at first, I really wanted to see the pregnancy through. After talking about my decision with my husband, friends and family, I booked an appointment with MSI. I chose to have a surgical abortion after researching my options.
After a lot of deliberation and a cancelled appointment due to a lack of staff, I hit the 12-week mark and my appointment day arrived. My appointment ran smoothly, MSI staff were warm and welcoming from the second I walked through the door and were happy to answer any questions that I had. When I walked into the consultation room, I burst into tears, but I know that it is very normal to feel emotions and does not mean I made the wrong decision.
