Over the past few weeks, MSI UK had the privilege of hosting not one, but three inspiring Open Days at our South Yorkshire Regional Treatment Centre. These events were powerful opportunities for professionals across sectors to come together, learn, and build stronger networks in support of reproductive healthcare.
From domestic abuse specialists and social care teams to healthcare professionals and community partners, the range of attendees reflected the deep commitment across South Yorkshire and beyond to providing informed care.
Each Open Day was an opportunity to:
- Showcase our state-of-the-art clinic and walk guests through the patient journey,
- Share the progress we’ve made and our ongoing efforts to deliver high-quality abortion care,
- Listen and learn from the lived experiences and expertise of our visitors,
- And most importantly, to strengthen collaboration across services and sectors.
We shared best practices from our work, and heard from attendees about the challenges faced by those on the frontline, insights from the community, and suggestions for how we can continue improving our services.
We were proud to demonstrate the full range of services available at our South Yorkshire centre, including:
- Medical abortion care, up to 9 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy (this includes both face-to-face appointments and at-home abortion care, for those eligible)
- Surgical abortion care, up to 23 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy
- Abortion aftercare
- Optional STI screening, including HIV testing
- Post-abortion contraception services, including advice on a range of methods
- Vasectomy
- Interpreting services
- BACP-accredited counselling, available at any time before, during and after treatment
All of our services are provided by highly skilled teams who are dedicated to supporting individuals throughout their journey, ensuring they receive the treatment of their choice with compassion, while prioritising their safety and well-being.
