“I truly can’t recommend the team enough.”
In this story, a client shares their experience having a surgical abortion at our West London (Ealing) clinic, as well as some advice for anyone going through a similar experience.
I want to share my story with anyone who might be going through the same journey.
I had an abortion at 20 weeks gestation and went through three appointments: an assessment, cervical preparation, and the surgical procedure the next day. From start to finish, the staff at MSI West London (Ealing) were incredible – kind, supportive, and completely non-judgmental.
“Her kindness made a huge difference, and I will never forget her.”
The cervical preparation during my second appointment was the most physically painful* part for me. But the nurse stayed with me every step of the way, holding my hand, distracting me, and reassuring me to breathe and that I would be okay. Her kindness made a huge difference, and I will never forget her.
The day of the surgery went smoothly. I didn’t feel pain before or after, which made the whole process so much easier. Now, three days post-procedure, everything is going as expected.
“You are not alone.”
To anyone reading this: it’s normal to feel scared or anxious, and it’s okay to have doubts. But know that you will be cared for with respect, compassion, and support. I felt safe and supported the entire time, and I truly can’t recommend the team at MSI West London (Ealing) enough.
Sending you strength and comfort for your journey, you are not alone.
*Every person is different and will experience different levels of pain and bleeding throughout the process. Find out more about pain and surgical abortion here.

Sharing stories is at the heart of ending the stigma that too many people still feel when it comes to abortion.
