I had a scan which showed I was 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant, so we proceeded with getting the tablets for a medical abortion. I saw the nurse who explained everything to me and answered any questions I had. I took the first tablet and then even had the implant fitted which they were more than happy to do.
The next day I felt really sick and uneasy, unsure if it was anxiety or the result of taking the first tablet. The time came to have the second set of tablets and again, I was scared. I took ibuprofen and paracetamol beforehand and then proceeded.
What came really surprised me – I had a small amount of period-type pain, passed some clots and had some medium to heavy bleeding. The whole process took around five hours, and for the most part was completely painless. I don’t know why I was so worried! I woke up the next day with little bleeding and no pain whatsoever.
