After reading horror stories online, I was genuinely scared to take these tablets. This is why I opted to share my positive experience.

A client’s experience of having a medical abortion at home and discussing contraception and counselling with MSI UK.

“When I found out I was pregnant I was shocked but expecting it.”

I had been diagnosed with a brain condition and few months prior and knew I couldn’t continue the pregnancy due to the medication I take. I looked up several different clinics but found the MSI suited me best.

I contacted them, and within 24 hours I received confirmation of my initial consultation. This phone call was super quick and easy and they only wanted some background information from me.

I was then contacted the day after by another lovely nurse to discuss the choices. They gave me loads of appointment choices that would suit my working day. I chose a medical abortion, as this was better for me. The nurse was very thorough in making sure I was safe to continue, given the condition and medications I take. I appreciate this greatly.

After reading horror stories online, I was genuinely scared to take these tablets. This is why I opted to share my positive experience.

I took the first tablet and carried on with my day. About 20 hours after I started lightly bleeding. I then decided to insert the next 4 tablets which got to work almost instantly. The pain is identical to what I’d feel during a period, however I understand this could be different for everyone.

MSI Reproductive Choices are amazing, and I felt properly supported and equipped at home. They spoke to me about counselling and birth control, which I was sent in the package with the medication.

I am so grateful and I hope other young women find this service helpful.
